چکیده

A gradually emerging dissension in the micro politics of Madhesi community has not received attention it deserves scholarly discourse. This article makes an effort to understand contexts and processes that made pan-Madhesi identity intrinsically problematic seemed be rife with internal conflicts. Drawing on lived experiences collected through ethnographic interviews people who belonged low-caste groups admitted being poor, is argued while overemphasizing socio-cultural recognition community, undermined issues economic inequality prevailing within for a long time. As consequence, over time, ties elitist leadership high middle-caste terms aspects resulted certain fissures or divisions community. prompts us rethink argue was cohesive guaranteed parity participation population irrespective their caste class position.
